Living Arrangements

Your living arrangements are subject to change depending on where you are in the program. In each place you live, you will receive the basic amenities and will share rooms with fellow OTZMAnikim. Basic accommodations include beds, desks, tables and chairs, a stovetop and refrigerator, as well as pots and pans and dishes and silverware.

During Part I, all participants will be living together in an immigrant absorption center. This year (2008-2009), half of the OTZMA group lived down south in Be’er Sheva and the other half of the group lived up north in Natzrat Ilit.

During Part II, the group will be divided into smaller groups, generally between 3-6 people. The federations whose communities will receive volunteers for those three months will be responsible accommodating each group. In the past, groups have lived in dorms, apartments, and immigrant absorption centers.

During Part III, participants will either be living on Kibbutz and therefore residing in their volunteer housing or working in a professional internship and therefore living in a big city. These accommodations vary year to year. In the past, our participants have lived in dorms, and apartment style residences.
